International Journal of Advanced Innovative Technology in Engineering (IJAITE)Automatic Measurement of Payload for Prevention of Overloading in Heavy Vehicles Pritesh Zade, Ayush Patankar, Atharva Todka,Neeraj Thakur, Sachin Borade Abstract : Overloading of heavy vehicles results in road damage, short vehicle life, and vehicle manoeuvre difficulty. Heavy vehicle accidents may also cause serious casualties. Therefore, in addition to careful driving, overload avoidance of heavy vehicles is also an important issue in preventing traffic accidents. The development of an automatic payload detection system for heavy vehicles is the objective in this work, which can be used by the vehicle operators and the regulatory authority in real-time to get the information, historical data and alert for effective and efficient decision-making, while on board the measured vehicle. By providing a comprehensive solution that combines precision, real-time monitoring, and ease of integration, it contributes to road safety, infrastructure longevity, and sustainable transportation practices. The system can be integrated into a variety of vehicle systems that are common in heavy vehicles. Ultimately this work verifies the experimental model accuracy with experimental data. Keywords :
