International Journal of Advanced Innovative Technology in Engineering (IJAITE)Performance Evaluation of Battery Cooling System for EVs By Forced Convection Sangram Sutar, Arya Vilasagar, Manthan Naik, Shantanu Ghate, Prof S. K. Maknikar Abstract : As the automotive industry accelerates its transition towards electric vehicles (EVs) to address environmental concerns, the performance of energy storage systems, particularly lithium-ion batteries, becomes increasingly pivotal. Efficient thermal management is essential to ensure the safety, longevity, and optimal performance of these batteries. This study focuses on the performance evaluation of battery cooling systems in electric vehicles, specifically employing forced convection as a cooling mechanism. Forced convection involves the use of external airflow, often facilitated by fans or active cooling methods, to dissipate heat from the battery pack. The efficiency of this cooling approach is critical for addressing thermal challenges associated with rapid charging, sustained driving, and varying environmental conditions. The objective of this research is to systematically evaluate the performance of forced convection cooling systems in electric vehicles, considering factors such as thermal dissipation efficiency, temperature uniformity, and adaptability to diverse operating conditions.
