Design of Fixture for Single Point Incremental Forming Process

Abstract :

Incremental Sheet Forming is a contemporary manufacturing process, which employs a CNC machine-controlled pin tool to stretch a sheet of material and produce intricate three-dimensional parts. This study proposes a novel fixture design for Single Point Incremental Forming (SPIF). The proposed fixture design is a significant advancement in the field of SPIF, as it ensures smooth and efficient production runs. The fixtures 3D design was meticulously crafted using the CATIA software, which enabled the creation of a highly precise and intricate fixture. Furthermore, the high-quality mild steel used in the fixtures construction makes it a durable and long-lasting investment for businesses. Overall, this study findings demonstrate that the proposed fixture design is an effective solution for SPIF production runs. The combination of the fixtures 3D design and high-quality mild steel construction results in a reliable and versatile tool for the production of intricate three-dimensional parts.
