Abstract :

This paper presents an innovative Alcohol Detection Engine Locking System (ADELS) utilizing Internet of Things (IoT) technology for enhanced vehicle safety and security. The proposed system integrates multiple functionalities including anti-theft measures, environmental monitoring (temperature and humidity), alcohol detection, and accident notification capabilities. The ADELS employs an advanced alcohol detection mechanism to continuously monitor the drivers alcohol level. Upon detecting alcohol levels surpassing predefined safety thresholds, the system automatically triggers the engine locking mechanism, preventing the vehicle from being operated until the alcohol level returns to a safe range. This feature significantly reduces the risk of alcohol-induced accidents, promoting road safety. Furthermore, the system incorporates anti-theft measures to safeguard the vehicle against unauthorized access and potential theft. Through IoT connectivity, the system enables real-time monitoring of temperature and humidity levels inside the vehicle, ensuring optimal environmental conditions for both passengers and sensitive equipment. In the event of an accident, the ADELS swiftly detects the impact and activates the accident notification feature. Utilizing IoT communication protocols, the system promptly notifies designated contacts, typically the car owners family members, about the incident, providing essential details such as the location and severity of the accident. This feature facilitates prompt emergency response, potentially saving lives and minimizing property damage.
